About us ...
My name is Tina De Suza, and I'm an artisan silversmith jeweller. We (myself and husband Greg) work out of our small workshop in Tinopai (on the Kaipara Harbour), in the north of New Zealand.
Our work is mainly in sterling silver and copper, and often with gemstones, Czech glass and resin. All items are handmade by us, using mostly the old traditional silversmithing methods, with some modern casting.
The kina pendants are cast here in New Zealand, and the original ones came from a beach at Whangarei Heads. They are just gorgeous.
Upcycling old original silver plated cutlery is a passion; we clean it up, polish it bright, and stamp it with inspirational words and sayings.
Also in our collection are solid sterling silver rings created from original vintage solid sterling spoons, and teaspoon earrings from vintage original silver plated teaspoon handles. The knife bell pendants are made from original vintage hollow knife handles. Some of the cutlery pieces we use are well over 100 years old. Oh the tales they could tell!
Newly available are silver plate spoon rings and bracelets - each one made from original vintage cutlery.
Much of our cutlery I have brought in from the USA as it's so difficult to find decorative vintage cutlery here in New Zealand. We have beautiful old patterns that you might not have seen before.
Our work is available through the stockists listed here on the Stockists page, and we will be at The Mangawhai Tavern Markets that run on Saturdays right throughout the summer. Hope to see you there!
